Alice Preece

May 6, 1937 — March 9, 2013

MORGAN - Alice Geneive Adams Preece, age 75, passed away early Saturday morning March 9, 2013 after a valiant battle fighting frontal temporal dementia.

Alice graduated from Morgan High School and married her sweetheart Edward L. Preece in 1955 in Morgan. She worked for the Morgan School District for 32 years in the school lunch program. She started as a cook, and worked up to food service director of the district's school lunch program. She loved all the wonderful ladies she worked with and all the children at the schools. She made many friends for life. She retired in 2000. She served in various church callings and especially loved being a Visiting Teacher. She loved to serve, and enjoyed following her kids and grandkids to their many religious and sporting events and enjoyed spending time with family and friends bowling.

Alice and her sisters Iris and Marcia formed a catering business, serving many meals at special events in Morgan. They had a special love and friendship with each other. Their love and compassion for others was shown by performing many secret acts of kindness and service.

Alice loved life, she had a wonderful smile and laugh. She loved her family and cherished her grand and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind 4 children: Kelly E. Preece (Connie), Kerry L. Preece (Lori), Charlene Jones (Leonard), JoAnne Stockett (Neal); 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren (with 2 on the way); 3 sisters: Iris Heiner, Marcia Leak, and Sylvia Germer; 3 brothers: Ken Adams, Les Adams, and Chet Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Preece; parents, Kenneth and Gwendlyn Adams; sister, Connie Hanney; brother-in-law, Dean Hanney; brother-in-law, Max Preece; sister-in-law, June Callahan and granddaughter, Halle.

Her family would like to thank all the wonderful people that offered care for Alice over the 3 years at Apple Village Assisted Living Center and 3 years at the Family Tree of Morgan. Special thanks for the people of Hospice of Utah for the comfort they provided, the visits from the ward members at each facility, and to family and friends for their love, support and kind words.

We love you and we will miss you Mom.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11 am at the Milton LDS Church (1255 N. Morgan Valley Dr.). A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 13 from 6 to 8 at the church and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services.

Interment will be at the North Morgan Cemetery.
