Margie Judd

April 22, 1933 — July 6, 2017

Margie Nichols Judd, 84, beloved by many and friend to all she met, passed away July 6, 2017. Born April 22, 1933 in Henefer, Utah to Allen LeRoy and Thelma Richins Nichols, Margie attended schools in Henefer and Coalville, graduating from North Summit High School in 1951.

She married Rulon V. Judd in the Salt Lake Temple December 19, 1952. He then left for Air Force duty in Japan. They were reunited a year later and eventually settled in Hoytsville, Utah where they raised their family on the Judd Dairy Farm.

Margie wrote numerous roadshows and lent her creative musical talents to North Summit High School’s traveling and homecoming assemblies. She was a lifelong fan of all NSHS activities, earning her the “Brave to the Bone” award.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Margie served in various callings. She loved being Primary Chorister. With her sweetheart, Rulon, Margie served missions to Finland, Sweden, and Ukraine, communicating through music and love. Her unique gift of loving others made everyone she knew feel special and important.

Margie’s greatest joy in life was serving others, especially her family. She is survived by her six children: Teena (Paul) Brown, Mark (LaReen) Judd, Mary Ann (Sterling) Banks, Jonene (Van) Johanson, David (Jane) Judd, and Allison (Thayne) Porter, 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, sister Louise Simister, brother Kent (Leah) Nichols, and numerous nieces and nephews. Welcomed on the other side by her parents, husband Rulon, sister Thea (Ted) Boyer, grandsons Curtis Rognan and Jace Johanson, and great-granddaughter Maddi Lynn Rognan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Hoytsville Church.  Friends and family may call at the church Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in the Hoytsville Cemetery.
