Louise Clements

August 5, 1921 — March 11, 2015

MORGAN – Louise Adaline Browning Clements, 93, passed away March 11, 2015 in Morgan Utah.  She was born Aug. 5, 1921 to Francis and Ella Browning in Millerville, Alabama.

During her school age years she lived in Akron, Ohio alongside her younger siblings.  During the Great Depression she returned to Alabama to work on her uncle’s farm.  After graduation from high school she attended nurse training in Talladega, Alabama.  While there, a young man caught her eye as they gathered around the piano singing songs.  She married Andrew “Doc” Clements on May 18, 1940 in Pell City, AL.  They moved to Utah, where they settled down for 75 years.

Louise worked at J. W. Williams Dept. Store for 23 years, retiring in 1982.  She held positions with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Business and Professional Women.  She taught 4-H sewing classes and was an active member of the LDS Church.  She was recognized with the Thousand Points of Light Award by the Governor of Utah for her volunteer work.

Louise had many interests and past times including sewing, making porcelain dolls, crocheting, cross-stitching and cooking. She also worked for and attended the Morgan Senior Center actively.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Joanne) Browning; children, Andy (Jeanne) Clements; Wayne (Janet) Clements; RuJean (Bill) Payne; Robert (Pam) Clements; and Ella (Don) Nicholas.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Doc” Clements; her son, Ronald “Bud” (Jan) Clements; brother, Al; sister, Leona; and grandson, Tony Clements.
