Krista Bessie Wangsgard of Huntsville, 38 years of age, passed away on May 27, 2017 in Salt Lake City while being treated for a heart condition.
She was born July 21, 1978 in Ogden, Utah, the fifth child of Ivan and Dena Carter Rich, and was raised in Milton, Morgan County, Utah.
She graduated from Morgan High School, attended Southern Utah State college and Weber State University, earning both a bachelor and masters degree in education. She taught at Roosevelt, Uintah and Valley Elementary Schools. She loved teaching and loved the children.
She met and married the love of her life, Abe Wangsgard, of Huntsville, Utah, to whom she was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 29, 2005. Abe is her best friend. After a honeymoon in Yellowstone, Abe and Krista settled on a life of family and fun, always planning something new, always the life of the party. No family party ever started until Abe and Krista arrived.
Abe and Krista are blessed with three children, Flint Abe, age 11; Claire Dena, age 8; and Hazel Krista, age 4. Abe and Krista have lived in Huntsville for the last 6 years, raising their children, riding their horses, showing the 4H pigs in the Weber County fair, camping, teaching Sunday School, fishing in the family fishing pond, and every other rural activity that can be imagined. Of all her hobbies the one she cherished most was her family.
She is survived by her husband Abe; three children: Flint, Claire, and Hazel; parents, Ivan and Dena Rich; siblings: Clay Rich, Clint (Shannon) Rich, Blake (Shay) Rich; and her best friend and sister Collett (Shayne) Watkins; father and mother-in-law, Kelly and Joan Wangsgard; uncle, Curt Wangsgard; aunt, Lynnda Wangsgard; and sister-in-law, April (Travis)Lopshire; as well as many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Milton Church, 1255 N. Morgan Valley Dr, in Morgan. Viewings will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service
Interment will be in the Milton Cemetery.
