Joyce Seare

May 27, 1932 — March 20, 2016

Joyce Dearden Seare, 83 of Salem OR, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016.  She was born on May 27, 1932 in Henefer, Utah to LaVern and Gladys (Beard) Dearden and graduated from North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah.  Joyce married Roswell H. Seare on September 28, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was a longtime member of West Salem Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she was President of the Relief Society for many years.  Her spirit of charity and helping others in need also involved her with missions in Louisiana, Texas and Cambodia.  Joyce was known for being the best mom ever.

Joyce is survived by her husband Roswell Seare of Salem OR; sons Paul Seare (Julia) of Preston ID, Mark Seare (Debbie) of St. Anthony ID and Joseph Seare (Tina) of Salem OR; daughters Dianne Bangerter (Bruce) of Troutdale OR and Kim Petersen (Michael) of Turner OR; sister Elleen Hicken of Kaysville UT; brother Alvin Dearden (Judy) of Sandy UT; sister-in-law Lupi Dearden of Henefer UT; nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother Blain Dearden.

Funeral Services for Joyce will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the West Salem Ward - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3154 Eola Dr NW, Salem, Oregon 97304.  Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.

An Open House and Viewing will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Relief Society room at Henefer LDS Church in Henefer, Utah.  Grave dedication and burial will take place at 12:30pm at Henefer Cemetery with a light lunch to follow at 1:30pm at the church.
