Doris Adair

March 31, 1929 — October 21, 2015

Doris Johnson Adair, 86, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on October 21, 2015 of natural causes.  She was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin on March 21, 1929 to Cora Swenson and Henry P. Johnson.

Doris graduated from Lincoln County High School in Panaca, Nevada.  Shortly after graduation, she met Myron and they were married on September 20, 1947.

Doris and Myron made their home and raised their 4 children living in such places as Nevada, Washington, and Utah.  Their family was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1958.

Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She and Myron served two full time missions, one in Portland Oregon, and the second in Salt Lake City at the Family History Center.

She was raised with 4 brothers and a sister, and learned how to fight (courtesy of her brothers), and ride her horse “like a cowboy” thanks to her father who used to jump his horse “Shorty” over gates rather than dismount and open them. She loved to hunt, fish and camp with her family and friends. This always involved annual excursions to the Pacific Northwest area and Salmon fishing on the Pacific Ocean.  She was an outstanding mother and supported her children in everything they wanted to accomplish. Her children can testify that she had more patience than a hospital!

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Myron in 2013 after 65 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki of San Diego, CA; Bonnie of Willits, CA; sons Russell (Diana), of Herriman, UT; and Richard (Nery) of Morgan, UT; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

To accommodate her wishes, there will be a short graveside service at the Milton Cemetery on Thursday October 29 at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stoddard Ward church immediately after the graveside service.
