HENEFER - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the McKay Hospital on Thursday February 21, 2013.

John Paskett, 80, was born on July 27, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Anna and Edgar Paskett. He is survived by his forever companion, Elaine Pennybaker Paskett of 61 years of faithful, loving devotion.

John was employed at the Ideal (Holcim) Cement Plant in Devils Slide, UT. from Sept. 1953-Dec. 1995. John and his wife and their best friends, Sheldon and Nancy Richins owned and operated Paskett and Richins Meat Processing Plant for many years. John was also a devoted servant to the LDS Church, he held many leadership positions including Stake High Council and Executive Secretary for the Bishopric. John’s favorite hobbies were camping, fishing, hunting. We will never forget his campfire stories, and his compassion and thoughtfulness to all of us.

John is survived by his sweetheart, Elaine; three sons: Steve (Jean) Paskett, Ted Paskett ; Chris (DeAnna) Paskett, six grandchildren; Rees Paskett, Gina Paskett (Shuman) , Kristen Paskett (Staples), Rudy Paskett, Neely Paskett, Zae Paskett; three great grandchildren; Alyssa Shuman, Jordan Shuman, and Kayzlee Staples. Also surviving are his brother Ray (Ann) Paskett; step-sisters, Judy (Dan) Joos, Jackie (Glen) Bowen, and Cathy (Craig) Davis.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Anna & Edgar Paskett, his brother Keith Paskett, his sister Alta Paskett (Garrett) and step sister, Connie Durrant.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at 1 pm at the Henefer LDS Church. Viewings will be held on February 25 (Monday) from 6-8 pm and preceding the funeral services from 11:45 am – 12:45 pm at the Henefer LDS Church.

Interment, Henefer Cemetery.
